Andrew Hungerford, Founder & Principal

As the firm’s Founder and Principal establishing HDI in 2000, Andrew has more than 32 years of design experience working in the U.S. and globally including the Caribbean, European, Middle Eastern, African and Asian markets. Andrew has built his career collaborating with some of the world’s top Architectural & Design firms developing his unique perspective of design. His ability to conceptualize the unseen and create visuals enables the client to realize a project’s potential. He leverages his expertise and knowledge of design to complete large-scale and complex Hospitality, Entertainment, Theme Park and Spa projects while giving equal attention to the detail of smaller-scaled ventures. He also takes immense pride in building and maintaining long term client relationships that are based on personal service and project success. Striving for excellence, exceeding client expectations, and over-performing are truly his passions.

Andrew attended Rollins College, studied abroad in Florence, Italy and graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in Interior Design. Outside of the office, he has spent time exploring mediums of watercolor and oil pastels, awarded in National competition by the Holbein Oil Pastel Society.

His years of furniture design and personal fabrication have led to many custom award winning pieces. He has also been commissioned for large-scale stained glass projects, oil-paintings, charcoal and pencil drawings for public and private collections alike. These interests have given invaluable perspective to his practice of Interior Design and the growth of HDI.
